The Chestnut Hill Dancing School has been a neighborhood tradition for over 100 years. The overall goal of the program is to encourage the children in our community to be more confident by learning to dance and socialize with one another. Dancing with a partner is a great way to create social awareness and learn both traditional and modern ballroom dances.

All classes are held at the
Philadelphia Cricket Club.
4:00 - 5:00 pm for 3rd and 4th grade
5:15 - 6:15pm for 5th and 6th grade
Dinner Dances
5:30-7:30 pm

All children in grades 3rd through 6th are welcome to attend. We accept approximately 60 children per session.
Registration is now closed for the Winter 2025 program. Please email chdancingschool@gmail.com to be added to the mailing list for next year.
Tuition is $200 per student.
Places will be filled in order of response.
About Chestnut Hill Dancing School
We offer ballroom dance and social etiquette instruction for children in 3rd-6th grade. This year, we will teach anything from merengue to fotxtrot, waltz, rhumba, or swing. From an etiquette perspective, here are some of the topics we plan on discussing:
Kindness & common courtesy - greetings, first impressions, being inclusive
Everyday manners – please and thank you
Sportsmanship - how to conduct oneself during competition
Table manners – from family dinners to dining out
Students will also practice greetings with handshakes and proper eye-contact at each class. A favorite tradition is the trivia and contest days - thank you note contest, Super Bowl and current events trivia, Gold Fish, and more!
Class Attire
Skirts or dresses with appropriate dress shoes. Dress pants.
Blazer and tie with dress shoes. No jeans or sneakers please.

Enrollment
All children in grades 3rd to 6th are welcome to attend. We accept approximately 60 children per session. Tuition is $200 per student. Places will be filled in order of response and we’ll monitor the classroom ratios. As a result, we may not be able to accept all applications. No refunds will be provided if your child withdrawals after January 1st.
